WHAT THE EYE SEES

BALI, INDONESIA, JANUARY 2018

This photographic assignment captures the lives, people and culture of tourist Bali. Different to other assignments completed, ‘What the Eye Sees’, is a constant reminder to look around, so easily are we swept up in the instant gratification of media these days we often miss the small details. Travelling to a new place always acts as a reminder for me to look at things with fresh eyes, new sights, smells and sounds fill our senses, igniting the inspiration within me. Never one to miss a photo opportunity or the perfect shot I am constantly snapping away, capturing the differences in daily lives of the place I have travelled.

I am constantly amazed at the kindness and love that Balinese people show to travellers of their beautiful country, always excited to share and open up their hearts and homes. Returning from Bali I am reminded that beauty is in every mundane task and every street well-travelled, to see it we must look with fresh eyes and be inspired by our own neighbourhood.
